Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Cyryl Kiewra to make the kick off. When the match had gone on for 51 minutes, Cyryl Kiewra put it in 1-2 from a short distance just to the right of Julio Vera. Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 54th minute of the match, but Sigge Holmberg made a huge save. The corner led Ecuador's Daniel Zorita to fire away a dangerous shot which Sigge Holmberg despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. When Cristian Sancho came up free with the goalie in the 76th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet.
