Andres Calamaro lost his temper 4 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 4th minute of the game. One of FC Ouagadougou National:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of USA:s goal. In the 6th minute there was a penalty for USA. Cassius Byrne stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Rene Vereijt. 0-1. Monty Rogers took the ball and in the 9 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Rene Vereijt. Rene Vereijt dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Rene Vereijt stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Edward Mcdonald's shot from short distance in the 14th minute. After 15 minutes FC Ouagadougou National's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Cassius Byrne who took care of the corner kick. The corner ended in Cassius Byrne almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but FC Ouagadougou National's Rene Vereijt did a great save. 19 minutes into the match, FC Ouagadougou National's goal looked a bit too open when Monty Rogers came free, but Rene Vereijt reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 23rd minute, Edward Mcdonald ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Rene Vereijt was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. In the 27th minute the ball was on its way in behind FC Ouagadougou National's goalkeeper Rene Vereijt, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. USA's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Cassius Byrne in the 28th minute. The corner went over the outstretched arms of FC Ouagadougou National's goalie and right to Diego Bradley. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. FC Ouagadougou National's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Marco Day made an important save on a dangerous shot by William Westelinx in the 33rd minute. Rene Vereijt showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Monty Rogers in the 35th minute of the match. In the 36th minute USA were awarded a corner. Cassius Byrne went to the cornerflag to take it. A well done corner resulted in Jacob May drilling the ball in to score 0-4 behind FC Ouagadougou National's goalkeeper. In the 40th minute Cassius Byrne shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rene Vereijt saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Cassius Byrne's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Rene Vereijt was relentless in the 40th minute of the game. Rene Vereijt stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Cassius Byrne's shot from short distance in the 40th minute. 44 minutes into the match, FC Ouagadougou National's goal looked a bit too open when Cassius Byrne came free, but Rene Vereijt reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The FC Ouagadougou National players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. USA were winning 0-4.

The wind increased when Cassius Byrne made the kick off in the second half. Marco Day made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from William Westelinx in the 51st minute of play. Edward Mcdonald could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 53rd minute of the match, but Rene Vereijt made a huge save. Monty Rogers sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a little luck, FC Ouagadougou National's Rene Vereijt got control of the ball when Cassius Byrne tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 70 minutes, Riemer Ax mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC Ouagadougou National and the USA players grew even worse after the yellow card. Riemer Ax kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. USA's Sam Campbell was substituted for Cassius Byrne. After 72 played minutes FC Ouagadougou National got a freekick which was hit by Riemer Ax. In the 73rd minute, Monty Rogers got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 80th minute Monty Rogers shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rene Vereijt saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice moves Monty Rogers could shoot a difficult shot in the 81st minute, which Rene Vereijt however easily saved by the left post. Rene Vereijt took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jenson Smith, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. William Westelinx sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. FC Ouagadougou National's Jedrzej Kiszkiel was substituted for William Westelinx. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sam Campbell got free with Rene Vereijt in the 89th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Jenson Smith made a great header on USA's corner, it was just that FC Ouagadougou National's Rene Vereijt managed to reach the ball for a save. USA's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
