Iulian Nisipeanu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eliseo Noboa, who was totally free with the ball in the 3rd minute. A hard shot 8 in the game by Ferdinand Şumălan from a close distance when the talented Benito Sanz managed to make a qualified save. Costa Rica's players were relieved. Thanks to some nice moves Ferdinand Şumălan could shoot a difficult shot in the 9th minute, which Benito Sanz however easily saved by the left post. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 13th minute of the match, managed to save Costa Rica from getting a goal against them. Iulian Nisipeanu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Axel Tasis, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. After a rather tough play, -BZF- Viitorul Buzau's Dan Senin got a free kick in the 18th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 21st minute, Eliseo Noboa managed to get in a good position for a shot. Costa Rica's supporters rose to their feet, but Eliseo Noboa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Iulian Nisipeanu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Iulian Lipan kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. Benito Sanz made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ferdinand Şumălan in the 26th minute. Eliseo Noboa hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. Abel Carballo kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. Eliseo Noboa struck a weak shot in the 34th minute. Iulian Nisipeanu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Costa Rica. In the 36th minute, Alan Moruga hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Benito Sanz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ferdinand Şumălan in the 38th minute of the match. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Axel Tasis made a kick off. After 50 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Juan Rubio. Benito Sanz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ferdinand Şumălan in the 51st minute of play. Iulian Lipan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benito Sanz having to interfere. Benito Sanz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Petru Pamfil in the 56th minute of play. Petru Pamfil took the ball and in the 57 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Benito Sanz. Benito Sanz dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. After 62 minutes of play, -BZF- Viitorul Buzau's Petru Pamfil made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Benito Sanz was left in no man's land by his defense there! Benito Sanz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Iulian Lipan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. -BZF- Viitorul Buzau's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Ferdinand Şumălan in the 69th minute. Axel Tasis could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 70th minute of the match, but Iulian Nisipeanu made a huge save. The corner led -BZF- Viitorul Buzau's Ferdinand Şumălan to fire away a dangerous shot which Benito Sanz despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Lautaro Puig recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 79th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 81st minute, Ferdinand Şumălan made a precise shot to the right of Benito Sanz. Costa Rica's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-0. 87 minutes into the game, Iulian Lipan cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-0. Benito Sanz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Benito Sanz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ferdinand Şumălan in the 90th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ferdinand Şumălan in the 92nd minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
