Ecuador's Cristian Sancho got a good chance for a goal in the 8th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 11 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Felix Montenegro. Ecuador's Julio Vera proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 12th minute of the match, managed to save Ecuador from getting a goal against them. Agustín Saelices fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Yanko Pirov having to interfere. Ecuador's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Daniel Zorita in the 17th minute. 18 minutes into the game, Ecuador's Felix Montes nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Yanko Pirov made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. The audience thought a goal was coming when Giro Campomanes got free with Julio Vera in the 25th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Felix Montenegro in the 29th minute of play forced GHOSTFACES ON FUTBOL's goalkeeper Yanko Pirov to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the GHOSTFACES ON FUTBOL defense, Felix Montenegro kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Yanko Pirov. The GHOSTFACES ON FUTBOL fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Yanko Pirov should have stopped the shot. In the 32nd minute, Cristian Sancho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Yanko Pirov made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 35th minute of play. Juan Sebastián Puig hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. Gaizka Jaraba took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 38th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Julio Vera. Ecuador's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 39th minute Giro Campomanes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 43 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Luis Andino. In the 45thth minute of the game Giro Campomanes who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ecuador's Julio Vera was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

In the 51st match minute, GHOSTFACES ON FUTBOL was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tauro Amorebieta to maneuver through the defense. Yanko Pirov made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Felix Montenegro in the 52nd minute of play. 54 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Giro Campomanes came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Giro Campomanes in the 56th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Yanko Pirov made a fantastic save in the 60th minute, when Daniel Zorita sent off a good shot on target. In the 61st minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. GHOSTFACES ON FUTBOL's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led Ecuador's Agustín Saelices to fire away a dangerous shot which Yanko Pirov despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Daniel Zorita might have been able to make a better finish in the 66th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Yanko Pirov. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Daniel Zorita ran back to his position shaking his head. When the match clock showed 69 minutes, the score became 1-2 when Giro Campomanes sped through Ecuador's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Julio Vera. 82 minutes had been played when some careless play by Ecuador's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Gaizka Jaraba was slow to take the kick. During this time GHOSTFACES ON FUTBOL's players had a chance to rest. When the match was over Ecuador could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than GHOSTFACES ON FUTBOL throughout the match.
