With a couple of smart ball manuevers Daniel Zorita in the 29th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Heiko Pinksteren saved fc pertotal from getting behind. In the 30th minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. fc pertotal's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner went over the outstretched arms of fc pertotal's goalie and right to Felix Montes. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. fc pertotal's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Boudewijn Horemans hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Agustín Saelices in the 36th managed to get into a good position. The referee ignored fc pertotal's protests and gave Miguel Engelborghs a yellow card for diving instead. In the 60th minute, one of fc pertotal:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for fc pertotal. 66 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Heiko Pinksteren narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cristian Sancho got free with Heiko Pinksteren in the 74th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 97 played minutes fc pertotal got a freekick which was hit by Joop Hennes. Lander De Worteleer kicked well hit freekick during the 99th minute of the match.
