Spectators: 44 (Terracing: 34, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Armando Meireles got the match started through his kick off. With a little luck, Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant got control of the ball when Armando Meireles tried to sneak it across the goal line. Gustavo Carrasqueira ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner first didn't look so dangerous but when Armando Meireles got the ball he succeeded in some way to get through the defenders to deliver a very hard score. Result 1-0. 14 minutes into the match. Venezuela's defense didn't have a chance, in the 18th minute, when Bruno Soveral scored to the left of an out of position Jonathan Ferrant, making the score, 2-0. Armando Meireles sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Armando Meireles took the ball and in the 21 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. Armando Meireles sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Camilo Gaos hit a great ball. In the 28th minute, Gustavo Carrasqueira sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant didn't even have to move. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bruno Soveral in the 29th minute of play. When Bruno Soveral came up free with the goalie in the 30th minute, the Exército Português fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bruno Soveral couldn't finish the play. Armando Meireles sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ian Van Den Driessche got a throw-in 40 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Armando Meireles. In the 42nd minute Armando Meireles shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tomas Illescas to make the kick off. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Armando Meireles in the 51st minute of the match. Armando Meireles sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Armando Meireles in the 53rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bruno Soveral in the 67th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Exército Português's supporters crossed their fingers, but Armando Meireles was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Armando Meireles in the 77th minute of play. Abel Carvalhais received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Jonathan Ferrant tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Exército Português's Manuel Flores, in the 88th minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Exército Português. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Bruno Soveral in the 91st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jonathan Ferrant saved Venezuela from getting behind. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gustavo Carrasqueira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gustavo Carrasqueira, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Exército Português had played much better football throughout.
