Joel Gaona scored 1-3 in the 42nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Isidoro Gelmiro, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-3 lead.

After some fancy dribbling in the 68th minute, Behzat Altuncuoğlu managed to get in a good position for a shot. MaviAteşSK's supporters rose to their feet, but Behzat Altuncuoğlu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dante Lacasa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. MaviAteşSK's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Joel Gaona ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led to Mexico's Luca Rouco getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. Isidoro Gelmiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alberto Tafalla, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. The goalkeeper smacked the ball away after a great corner, but Facundo Cadaval advanced and headed the ball into goal, 2-4 in the 88th minute. Aytunç Kuter kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. Chants of MaviAteşSK echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as Mexico had held the ball for most of the match.
