The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Tadeo Distiratsu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 10th minute of the match. Jarana FC's Yang Yao Kuan was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Julio Vera in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. The audience thought a goal was coming when Wilfredo Gitano got free with Julio Vera in the 23rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 26th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tadeo Distiratsu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Kalmer Üksvärav hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Jarana FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Yang Yao Kuan didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some careless play in the Jarana FC defense, Cristian Sancho kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Tadeo Distiratsu. The Jarana FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tadeo Distiratsu should have stopped the shot. After 37 minutes of play, Jarana FC's Wilfredo Gitano made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Julio Vera was left in no man's land by his defense there! After having played for 40 minutes, Wilfredo Gitano managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Jarana FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Wilfredo Gitano was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 43rd minute, Joop Deswarte managed to get in a good position for a shot. Jarana FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Joop Deswarte was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Julio Vera breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tadeo Distiratsu having to interfere. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Wilfredo Gitano to strike the kick off in the second half. With his leg Tadeo Distiratsu managed to avoid a goal in the 51stth minute, when Ecuador's Cristian Sancho fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 54th minute Antonio Arias suffered a foot injury and had to be helped off the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Wilfredo Gitano during the 54th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Marciano Christobal hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Jarana FC getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Yang Yao Kuan hit a great ball. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Valko De Hond, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 73rd minute Jarana FC were awarded a corner. Yang Yao Kuan went to the cornerflag to take it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wilfredo Gitano in the 90th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ecuador's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Jarana FC had won, even though Ecuador had held more of the ball.
