The Irons Chorzów's Piotr Lech played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Felix Montenegro in the 18th minute of play. Piotr Lech took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Patryk Snaza in the 23rd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 25th minute of play forced The Irons Chorzów's goalkeeper Piotr Lech to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Pawel Kochanowski made a great header on The Irons Chorzów's corner, it was just that Ecuador's Julio Vera managed to reach the ball for a save. Felix Montenegro's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Piotr Lech read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 33rd minute of play. After some careless play in the The Irons Chorzów defense, Cristian Sancho kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Piotr Lech. The The Irons Chorzów fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Piotr Lech should have stopped the shot. After the first half Ecuador were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Maciej Bartelak made a kick off. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alfred Babicki in the 53rd minute of play. In the 54th minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Piotr Lech saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Luis Andino scored 0-3 in the 60th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Piotr Lech, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. With a little luck, The Irons Chorzów's Piotr Lech got control of the ball when Daniel Zorita tried to sneak it across the goal line. Piotr Lech made an important save on a dangerous shot by Agustín Saelices in the 64th minute. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Piotr Lech made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 74th minute of play. Maciej Bartelak sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Piotr Lech made a fantastic save in the 82nd minute, when Daniel Zorita sent off a good shot on target. In the 85th minute, Pawel Kochanowski hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Ecuador booed when The Irons Chorzów was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Stefan Kon didn't get a good kick on the ball. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Patryk Snaza in the 95th minute of play. If Maciej Bartelak had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ecuador's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
