After 6 played minutes El Salvador got a freekick which was hit by Joshua Curbelo. After 8 minutes, Moises Fernandino mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the El Salvador and the Nuevo Horizonte players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to El Salvador getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Moises Fernandino hit a great ball. Abram Luque fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Niceto Virila having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Paulino Katia in the 20th minute of play forced El Salvador's goalkeeper Ricardo Zorita to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to El Salvador getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Joshua Curbelo hit a great ball. Nuevo Horizonte's Honorio Aztore couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for El Salvador. After some careless play in the El Salvador defense, Feliberto Ramirez kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ricardo Zorita. The El Salvador fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ricardo Zorita should have stopped the shot. In the 29th minute, El Salvador's Lorenzo Yepes seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Lorenzo Yepes the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of El Salvador protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Lorenzo Yepes had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 28th minute of the game. One of El Salvador:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Nuevo Horizonte:s goal. In the 38th minute, Moises Fernandino left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The El Salvador fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Baldomero Lapurdi in the 42nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ricardo Zorita prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a defensive mix-up in El Salvador's zone, Baldomero Lapurdi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ricardo Zorita came out of the goal and Baldomero Lapurdi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ricardo Zorita took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nemesio Meder, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The El Salvador players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Nuevo Horizonte were winning 1-2.

Paulino Katia recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 51st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Nuevo Horizonte's Niceto Virila played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Abram Luque in the 58th minute of play. 61 minutes into the game, Leo Rutenio was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Nuevo Horizonte's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave El Salvador the free kick. After 61 played minutes Nuevo Horizonte got a freekick which was hit by Leo Rutenio. After some fancy dribbling in the 62nd minute, Mateo Leguizamo managed to get in a good position for a shot. El Salvador's supporters rose to their feet, but Mateo Leguizamo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Niceto Virila breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 63 minutes into the match, Nuevo Horizonte's goal looked a bit too open when Moises Fernandino came free, but Niceto Virila reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Niceto Virila took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Abram Luque, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 67 minutes, Jesus Carvallo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the El Salvador and the Nuevo Horizonte players grew even worse after the yellow card. A hard shot 72 in the game by Baldomero Lapurdi from a close distance when the talented Ricardo Zorita managed to make a qualified save. El Salvador's players were relieved. In the 77th minute of the match, Paulino Katia tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Ricardo Zorita saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. The supporters of Nuevo Horizonte booed when El Salvador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jesus Carvallo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ricardo Zorita was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 78th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Honorio Aztore. Valentino Ferrant's late challenge caught a Nuevo Horizonte's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Valentino Ferrant helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, El Salvador's Valentino Ferrant got a free kick in the 81st minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 82nd minute, Honorio Aztore managed to get in a good position for a shot. Nuevo Horizonte's supporters rose to their feet, but Honorio Aztore was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ricardo Zorita breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 85th minute, Joshua Curbelo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 88th minute, Hernan Gumaro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Mateo Leguizamo during the 91st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The El Salvador supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Nuevo Horizonte's performance. The match ended with a win for Nuevo Horizonte.
