Spectators: 44 (Terracing: 34, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jerônimo Mangueira in the 6th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Júbilo Iwata's Zé Roberto Velasco got a free kick in the 7th minute. When Daniel Zorita came up free with the goalie in the 8th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Daniel Zorita couldn't finish the play. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Giovanni Pena having to interfere. Giovanni Pena didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Cristian Sancho went, in the 14th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zé Roberto Velasco in the 19th minute of the match. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A nice corner shot did that Felix Montenegro got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Giovanni Pena quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Giovanni Pena made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Zorita in the 29th minute. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Giovanni Pena having to interfere. In the 35th minute, Agustín Saelices hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jerônimo Mangueira in the 36th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. Giovanni Pena was a little too slow when Cristian Sancho got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 38th minute. The score was now 2-0. Zé Roberto Velasco recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 42nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 43rd match minute, Júbilo Iwata was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Juvenal Mendonça to maneuver through the defense. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Giovanni Pena tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Daniel Zorita to make the kick off. Giovanni Pena showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 55th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 57th minute, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Daniel Zorita was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Giovanni Pena breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 68thth minute of the game Daniel Zorita who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Júbilo Iwata's Giovanni Pena was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 71st minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Giovanni Pena saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ecuador's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Daniel Zorita in the 72nd minute. Júbilo Iwata's Giovanni Pena played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 76th minute of play. Giovanni Pena showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 82nd minute of the match. Ecuador's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Daniel Zorita in the 83rd minute. After a defensive mix-up in Júbilo Iwata's zone, Daniel Zorita stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Giovanni Pena came out of the goal and Daniel Zorita tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Sílvio Luís Bittencourt struck a weak shot in the 90th minute. Julio Vera didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Júbilo Iwata. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Donato Vargas in the 92nd minute of play. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Cristian Sancho hit a great ball.
