The first half was very even, with the score at 2-2 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ecuador's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ferdinand Rosenvad was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-4. Julio Vera made an important save on a dangerous shot by Walentin Julskov in the 94th minute. Chants of Egernføde Boldklub echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as Ecuador had held the ball for most of the match.
