Luz Tejedor ran over to the corner to take the kick. 16 minutes into the match, Peru's goal looked a bit too open when Pelayo Contratas came free, but Rolando Noboa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 17 minutes into the match, Peru's Julian Murillo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Sebastian Winszman narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Peru's supporters rose to their feet, but Luz Tejedor was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sebastian Winszman breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gustavo Scarpa in the 68th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rolando Noboa prevented the ball from getting in the gole.
