After having played for 13 minutes, Luis Zamora managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. C.F Intercity's supporters crossed their fingers, but Luis Zamora was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Rolando Noboa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Cazacu in the 21st minute of the match. In the 23rd minute Daniel Cazacu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rolando Noboa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Peru's Rolando Noboa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Cazacu in the 39th minute of play. After 45 played minutes C.F Intercity got a freekick which was hit by Bartosz Salamon. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Julian Murillo was the one to do the kick off. Peru's attentive Alonso Berganza managed to snatch the ball when Brandon Stamp made a throw-in in the 51st minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eliseo Mina in the 54th minute of play forced C.F Intercity's goalkeeper Jeremie Van Nel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Milagros Fraga kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Jeremie Van Nel. That made the score 0-2 in the 56 minute of play. A well-hit corner resulted in Julian Murillo heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely.
