Venezuela were furious when Camilo Gaos was red carded, 6 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In a very dangerous position, a player in Venezuela fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 6th minute. Penalty! In the 26th minute, Christijan Schreuder ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jonathan Ferrant was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ruud Geels, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. 38 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Christijan Schreuder. After 39 minutes of play, Verwachting's Ruud Geels made it 4-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jonathan Ferrant was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 43rd minute, Verwachting's Twan Hesseling ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 5-0. Af the end of the first half the score was 5-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Christijan Schreuder to make the kick off. Christijan Schreuder took the ball and in the 57 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 8-0. Phoenix Soare made in the 63rd minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Oliver van Kampen however managed to control. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ruud Geels, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Christijan Schreuder, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 73rd minute Ruud Geels shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Twan Hesseling's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jonathan Ferrant was relentless in the 74th minute of the game. After a defensive mix-up in Venezuela's zone, Twan Hesseling stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal and Twan Hesseling tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Verwachting's Phoenix Soare got a free kick in the 79th minute. Patricio Costa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 80th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 82 minutes into the game, Verwachting's Ruud Geels nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jonathan Ferrant made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 9-0. Guillermo Mariano hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. Harm de Freitas shot from long distance after 86 played minutes, a shot that Jonathan Ferrant with certain difficulty stopped from going in under the crossbar. Ruud Geels received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Jonathan Ferrant tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some careless play in the Venezuela defense, Twan Hesseling kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. The Venezuela fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jonathan Ferrant should have stopped the shot. When the referee ended the match the Verwachting players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
