Spectators: 47 (Terracing: 36, Seating: 11, VIP seats: 0) Léopold Castro made the kick off and thus started the match. Arden Poulin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 2nd minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, Persepolis F.C.'s Santos Perez got control of the ball when Daniel Zorita tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 5th minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. Persepolis F.C.'s goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. 10 minutes into the match, Persepolis F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Santos Perez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 10th minute, Avery Merrill hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arden Poulin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 17th minute, Abraham Dutton hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 24th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Santos Perez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Felix Montenegro kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arden Poulin in the 26th minute of play. In the 29th minute Arden Poulin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Persepolis F.C.'s Santos Perez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 34th minute of play. Léopold Castro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 36th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Antonio Arias got a free kick in the 41st minute. Antonio Arias kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. If Léopold Castro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Santos Perez in the 48th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Santos Perez stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Daniel Zorita's shot from short distance in the 52nd minute. In the 52nd minute, Gwidon Seliga hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Daniel Zorita, 53 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Santos Perez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 56th minute of play. Ecuador's Julio Vera proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 68th minute of the match, managed to save Ecuador from getting a goal against them. Santos Perez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luis Andino in the 73rd minute of play forced Persepolis F.C.'s goalkeeper Santos Perez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Persepolis F.C. made a substitution. Danny Craig replaced Ildefonso Harkaitz. Persepolis F.C.'s Léopold Castro came free and shot a quick shot against goal 78 minutes in the game, fortunately Julio Vera had problems saving as it came toward the left post. After some fancy dribbling in the 82nd minute, Cristian Sancho managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Cristian Sancho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Santos Perez breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to Persepolis F.C. getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Danny Craig hit a great ball. Persepolis F.C.'s Santos Perez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 84th minute of play. Ecuador's Julio Vera proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 85th minute of the match, managed to save Ecuador from getting a goal against them. In the 86th minute of the match Persepolis F.C. got a corner. Ecuador's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Despite being the better team, Ecuador failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
