If Boguslaw Marczyniec had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The supporters of 3City United booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Patricio Costa didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tomas Illescas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bernt Ånger having to interfere. 30 minutes into the match, Venezuela's Tomas Illescas sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Bernt Ånger narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 40th minute, Tomas Illescas managed to get in a good position for a shot. Venezuela's supporters rose to their feet, but Tomas Illescas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bernt Ånger breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Boguslaw Marczyniec in the 51st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jonathan Ferrant prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 54 minutes into the match, 3City United's goal looked a bit too open when Patricio Costa came free, but Bernt Ånger reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Tomas Illescas came up free with the goalie in the 67th minute, the Venezuela fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tomas Illescas couldn't finish the play. Guillermo Mariano hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. If Tomas Illescas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Remigiusz Mlekodaj in the 89th minute of play. Dominik Galagan's late challenge caught a Venezuela's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dominik Galagan helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, 3City United's Dominik Galagan got a free kick in the 95th minute. Despite being the better team, 3City United failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
