Wara's Jēkabs Pirtslāva quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Leonardo Leoz, made in the 3rd minute of the game. Faouzi Louahla struck a weak shot in the 10th minute. Dante Lacasa didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Wara. Wara's Elias Urdaspal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lautaro Mancebo in the 12th minute of play. After 13 minutes Wara's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Joel Gaona who took care of the corner kick. Lautaro Mancebo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 18th match minute, Mexico was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leonardo Leoz to maneuver through the defense. After 19 played minutes Mexico got a freekick which was hit by Lorenzo Cazalla. Mexico's Dante Lacasa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cheb El-Hadi in the 19th minute of play. 24 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Faouzi Louahla came free, but Dante Lacasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 30 minutes, Larkins Potter mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Wara and the Mexico players grew even worse after the yellow card. Mexico made a substitution. Jonathan Atenas replaced Luca Rouco. After 31 played minutes Wara got a freekick which was hit by Larkins Potter. Joel Gaona fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Elias Urdaspal having to interfere. In the 35th minute, Jēkabs Pirtslāva hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Elias Urdaspal showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lautaro Mancebo in the 38th minute of the match. If Joel Gaona had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 47 minutes into the match, Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Larkins Potter. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The wind increased when Joel Gaona made the kick off in the second half. In the 57th minute, Joel Gaona got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Wara's Larkins Potter in the 61st minute got a chance for a shot 61st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Lautaro Mancebo came free with the goalkeeper in the 68th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Elias Urdaspal could save by the left post. Taha Rami kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Lautaro Mancebo got free with Elias Urdaspal in the 71st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 74th minute, Larkins Potter hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 78th minute, Jean-Baptiste Boulebda hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 80th minute the ball was on its way in behind Wara's goalkeeper Elias Urdaspal, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 81 minutes had been played when some careless play by Wara's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Joel Gaona was slow to take the kick. During this time Mexico's players had a chance to rest. In the 84th minute of the match, Joel Gaona tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Elias Urdaspal saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Lautaro Mancebo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Lautaro Mancebo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 91st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 94th minute Camilo Rojas suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. Leonardo Leoz charged in rather forcefully in the 94th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Leonardo Leoz the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Wara's Karim Macias was substituted for Camilo Rojas. Leonardo Leoz kicked well hit freekick during the 96th minute of the match. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. Wara were victorious despite being under pressure from Mexico for much of the match.
