He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Ecuador reached it.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Daniel Zorita to strike the kick off in the second half. Felix Montenegro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fabricio Lawrence having to interfere. Ecuador's Cristian Sancho got a good chance for a goal in the 59th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Fabricio Lawrence made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 60th minute of play. The supporters of Los Irrompibles booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Antonio Arias didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 67 played minutes Los Irrompibles got a freekick which was hit by Rogelio Herrasti. 73 minutes into the game, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Fabricio Lawrence made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. 76 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Rogelio Herrasti came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Fabricio Lawrence showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. With a little luck, Los Irrompibles's Fabricio Lawrence got control of the ball when Daniel Zorita tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ecuador's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
