The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. An unexpectedly hard shot by Felix Montenegro in the 43rd minute of play forced Söderbröder's goalkeeper Karl-Axel Nyman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

51 minutes into the game, Söderbröder's Matheus Baltazar nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Julio Vera made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. Agustín Saelices blasted a shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Karl-Axel Nyman having to make a save. After having played for 64 minutes, Cristian Sancho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cristian Sancho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 65th match minute, Söderbröder was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sardar Azmon to maneuver through the defense. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Karl-Axel Nyman tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet as Ecuador's Luis Andino slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Karl-Axel Nyman. That made the score 1-5 after 75 minutes of play. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Matheus Baltazar in the 77th minute of play. In the 77th minute Matheus Baltazar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Karl-Axel Nyman made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 85th minute of play. 88 minutes into the match, Söderbröder's goalkeeper Karl-Axel Nyman had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daniel Zorita. Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 89th minute after Söderbröder's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Zorita took the corner. After taking down the ball on Ecuador's corner Daniel Zorita fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Karl-Axel Nyman quite easily take care of the ball. In the 91st minute Matheus Baltazar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Antonio Arias kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. Karl-Axel Nyman made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 96th minute of play. The Söderbröder fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Ecuador were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
