Sportivo Luan Toro's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Ramiro Eufrasio in the 22nd minute. The corner ended in Benjamin Sundin almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but USA's Marco Day did a great save. After a defensive mix-up in USA's zone, Olli Fiedler stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marco Day came out of the goal and Olli Fiedler tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. USA's defense didn't have a chance, in the 28th minute, when Olli Fiedler scored to the left of an out of position Marco Day, making the score, 1-0. In the 34th minute Zach Harrison shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Robert Davison saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 35 minutes had been played when some careless play by Sportivo Luan Toro's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Cassius Byrne was slow to take the kick. During this time USA's players had a chance to rest. 36 minutes into the match, USA's goalkeeper Marco Day had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Olli Fiedler. Olli Fiedler could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 39th minute of the match, but Marco Day made a huge save.
