Ricardo Zorita showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Živadin Gvozdenović, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. When Jesus Carvallo fell near the penalty area in the 63rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored El Salvador's protests and gave Jesus Carvallo a yellow card for diving instead. In the 63rd match minute, El Salvador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jesus Carvallo to maneuver through the defense. Ricardo Zorita made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Višeslav Putinčanin in the 70th minute of play. Ricardo Zorita came out of the goal in the 73rd minute to try and stop a shot by FK Partizan Beograd's Višeslav Putinčanin. But to his dismay, Višeslav Putinčanin quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Mateo Leguizamo's late challenge caught a FK Partizan Beograd's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mateo Leguizamo helped the player get up and apologised. In the 79th minute, Mateo Leguizamo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 86 minutes into the game, Joshua Curbelo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player.
