After 4 minutes, Alfonzo Vinson mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the American Airlines and the Bolivia players grew even worse after the yellow card. Chase Erwin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mario Fernandino, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. Bolivia's Camilo Freixa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 12th minute of the match, managed to save Bolivia from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jorginho Esteves in the 15th minute of play forced Bolivia's goalkeeper Camilo Freixa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 15th minute, Eduardo Fontirroig hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Chase Erwin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alfredo Ferrant in the 17th minute of play. In the 18th minute of the match Bolivia got a corner. American Airlines's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Mario Fernandino ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on Bolivia's corner Mario Fernandino fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Chase Erwin quite easily take care of the ball. Clark Holloway in the 21stth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Camilo Freixa, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Camilo Freixa made a fantastic save in the 22nd minute, when Clark Holloway sent off a good shot on target. 27 minutes into the match, Bolivia's Eduardo Fontirroig sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Chase Erwin narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 33rd minute, Clark Holloway managed to get in a good position for a shot. American Airlines's supporters rose to their feet, but Clark Holloway was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Camilo Freixa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 35th minute of the match, Clark Holloway got a very nice opportunity to score, but Camilo Freixa was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Bolivia's Camilo Freixa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 36th minute of the match, managed to save Bolivia from getting a goal against them. After a defensive mix-up in American Airlines's zone, Eduardo Fontirroig stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Chase Erwin came out of the goal and Eduardo Fontirroig tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jarod Haskins charged in rather forcefully in the 44th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jarod Haskins the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Bolivia's Mario Fernandino got a free kick in the 46th minute. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

A very good chance. 65 minutes into the match, American Airlines's goal looked a bit too open when Eduardo Fontirroig came free, but Chase Erwin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Bolivia booed when American Airlines was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alfonzo Vinson didn't get a good kick on the ball. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
