The audience thought a goal was coming when Binali Baysal got free with Lautaro Navarro in the 27th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Emre Kurtuluş showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edmundo Espiga, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. A collision led to Honduras getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Milagros Cabal hit a great ball. The audience was convinced that Edmundo Espiga's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Emre Kurtuluş was relentless in the 39th minute of the game. In the 41st minute Edmundo Espiga shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Emre Kurtuluş saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 44th minute, Sebastian Villa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Onur Övünç could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 45th minute of the match, but Lautaro Navarro made a huge save. With a little luck, Honduras's Lautaro Navarro got control of the ball when Onur Övünç tried to sneak it across the goal line. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

Lautaro Navarro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Onur Övünç, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
