The Last Try
Spectators: 41 (Terracing: 32, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) El ultimo's Ramon Ignatius started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Vladimiro Socorro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alberto Tafalla, who was totally free with the ball in the 3rd minute. In the 4th minute of the match Mexico got a corner. El ultimo's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. After taking down the ball on Mexico's corner Luca Rouco fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Vladimiro Socorro quite easily take care of the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ke Xiang got free with Dante Lacasa in the 6th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Dante Lacasa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ramon Ignatius in the 7th minute of the match. 9 minutes into the match, El ultimo's goal looked a bit too open when Luca Zorita came free, but Vladimiro Socorro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 9th minute, Luca Zorita left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Mexico fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Alberto Tafalla received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Vladimiro Socorro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Joel Gaona received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. El ultimo's Vladimiro Socorro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alberto Tafalla in the 40th minute of play. When Alberto Tafalla came up free with the goalie in the 43rd minute, the Mexico fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alberto Tafalla couldn't finish the play. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Joel Gaona made a kick off. After a defensive mix-up in El ultimo's zone, Alberto Tafalla stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vladimiro Socorro came out of the goal and Alberto Tafalla tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Mexico's Dante Lacasa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ramon Ignatius in the 54th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in El ultimo's zone, Joel Gaona stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vladimiro Socorro came out of the goal and Joel Gaona tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Dante Lacasa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ramon Ignatius, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ke Xiang in the 59th minute of play forced Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 60th minute, El ultimo's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Joel Gaona fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. In the 65th minute Alberto Tafalla shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vladimiro Socorro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. El ultimo's Bernabe Lucero was substituted for Ke Xiang. El ultimo made a substitution. Felipe Venceslas replaced Serafino Ignazio. Vladimiro Socorro came out of the goal in the 84th minute to try and stop a shot by Mexico's Joel Gaona. But to his dismay, Joel Gaona quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-3. Vladimiro Socorro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joel Gaona in the 88th minute of play.
