The Last Try
Spectators: 41 (Terracing: 32, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Daniel Zorita made the kick off which started today's match. Julio Vera came out of the goal in the 3rd minute to try and stop a shot by El ultimo's Ramon Ignatius. But to his dismay, Ramon Ignatius quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. After having played for 13 minutes, Luis Andino managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Luis Andino was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Felix Montenegro came up free with the goalie in the 16th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Felix Montenegro couldn't finish the play. Vladimiro Socorro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Teo Cordero hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. In the 23rd minute Luis Andino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vladimiro Socorro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. El ultimo's Vladimiro Socorro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 30th minute of play. Luis Andino received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Vladimiro Socorro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. El ultimo's Vladimiro Socorro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 34th minute of play. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ramon Ignatius, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Felix Montenegro in the 43rd minute of play forced El ultimo's goalkeeper Vladimiro Socorro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Julio Vera came out of the goal in the 46th minute to try and stop a shot by El ultimo's Ke Xiang. But to his dismay, Ke Xiang quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ramon Ignatius was the one to do the kick off. In the 55th minute Ramon Ignatius shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Vladimiro Socorro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. It was Daniel Zorita who took care of the corner kick. Cristian Sancho made a great header on Ecuador's corner, it was just that El ultimo's Vladimiro Socorro managed to reach the ball for a save. Bernabe Lucero kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. Vladimiro Socorro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 70th minute of play. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vasile Pisculescu in the 74th minute of the match. Vladimiro Socorro made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Zorita in the 81st minute. Daniel Zorita's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Vladimiro Socorro firmly grabbed it by the left post. 85 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Vasile Pisculescu came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. El ultimo were victorious despite being under pressure from Ecuador for much of the match.
