Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Costel Ţintă took the kick off in the first half of the match. After 5 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Agustín Saelices. Walter Zenga made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 8th minute of play. 9 minutes into the match Costel Ţintă climbed in front of goal and pressed up 1-0 in the right cross behind a totally surprised Julio Vera. 13 minutes into the match, Cristian Sancho had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Walter Zenga. Scorpions -MM-'s manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Cristian Sancho was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. In the 17th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Walter Zenga saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Dorinel Munteanu during the 18th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luis Andino in the 19th minute of play forced Scorpions -MM-'s goalkeeper Walter Zenga to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Walter Zenga came out of the goal in the 22nd minute to try and stop a shot by Ecuador's Felix Montenegro. But to his dismay, Felix Montenegro quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Walter Zenga showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. Scorpions -MM-'s Walter Zenga played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 28th minute of play. 29 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Costel Ţintă. In the 31st minute the ball was on its way in behind Scorpions -MM-'s goalkeeper Walter Zenga, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Scorpions -MM-'s Walter Zenga played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 32nd minute of play. 33 minutes into the match, Scorpions -MM-'s goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Walter Zenga reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 34 minutes into the match, Scorpions -MM-'s Alex Vrânceanu sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Julio Vera narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Costel Ţintă, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 42nd minute of play forced Scorpions -MM-'s goalkeeper Walter Zenga to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cornel Giuverdea kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. Ecuador's Julio Vera proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 45th minute of the match, managed to save Ecuador from getting a goal against them. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After the first half Ecuador were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
The wind increased when Daniel Zorita made the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Scorpions -MM-'s Alex Vrânceanu got a free kick in the 52nd minute. Scorpions -MM-'s Walter Zenga proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 54th minute of the match, managed to save Scorpions -MM- from getting a goal against them. In the 59th minute, Dorinel Munteanu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Scorpions -MM- made a substitution. Traian Uzuneanu replaced Augustin Vergulescu. In the 60th match minute, Scorpions -MM- was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dorinel Munteanu to maneuver through the defense. Traian Uzuneanu's late challenge caught a Ecuador's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Traian Uzuneanu helped the player get up and apologised. Traian Uzuneanu hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. The supporters of Scorpions -MM- booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Juan Sebastián Puig didn't get a good kick on the ball. 72 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Walter Zenga narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 73rd minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. Scorpions -MM-'s goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. Walter Zenga made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luis Andino in the 75th minute of play. In the 76th minute, Octav Vătăşel hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After recieving a nice pass, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita tried to score from far away in the 77th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. In the 78th minute, Agustín Saelices hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Traian Uzuneanu took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 81st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Julio Vera. Ecuador's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Cornel Giuverdea charged in rather forcefully in the 86th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Cornel Giuverdea the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 86 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Scorpions -MM-! Scorpions -MM-:s Walter Zenga showed great skill when he stopped Daniel Zorita:s penalty. Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 88th minute after Scorpions -MM-'s defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Zorita took the corner. Ecuador's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Daniel Zorita in the 90th minute. Daniel Zorita made a great header on Ecuador's corner, it was just that Scorpions -MM-'s Walter Zenga managed to reach the ball for a save. Luis Andino in the 90thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Walter Zenga, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. After some careless play in the Scorpions -MM- defense, Daniel Zorita kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Walter Zenga. The Scorpions -MM- fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Walter Zenga should have stopped the shot. Walter Zenga made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 97th minute of play. With 97 minutes on the clock, Ştefan Cipău commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Scorpions -MM- fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 97th minute. Penalty! After 99 minutes of play, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita made it 1-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Walter Zenga was left in no man's land by his defense there! The Scorpions -MM- fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Ecuador were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
