In the 22nd minute, Patricio Costa got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Patricio Costa in the 24th minute of play forced Scorpions -MM-'s goalkeeper Walter Zenga to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 26th minute, Tomas Illescas managed to get in a good position for a shot. Venezuela's supporters rose to their feet, but Tomas Illescas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Venezuela's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Scorpions -MM- the free kick. In the 40th minute, one of Venezuela:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Venezuela. Jonathan Ferrant had in the 43rdth minute some difficulties stopping Dan Tinu's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Dan Tinu did an outstanding performance 43 minutes into the match, when he by himself got past the opposing team's defense and with a quick scored 3-0 to the right of an irritated Jonathan Ferrant in the goal. Cornel Giuverdea fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Ferrant having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Costel Ţintă in the 47th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Costel Ţintă to make the kick off. In the 53rdth minute of the game Costel Ţintă who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 54 minutes into the match, Scorpions -MM-'s goal looked a bit too open when Tomas Illescas came free, but Walter Zenga reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tomas Illescas could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 55th minute of the match, but Walter Zenga made a huge save. Tomas Illescas who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 59thth minute tested the skills of Walter Zenga when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 59 minutes into the game, Tony Dobos was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Scorpions -MM-'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Venezuela the free kick. Scorpions -MM- made a substitution. Traian Uzuneanu replaced Augustin Vergulescu. If Tomas Illescas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 92nd minute Costel Ţintă shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Scorpions -MM-'s fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
