Spectators: 43 (Terracing: 33, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Daniel Zorita took the kick off in the first half of the match. Savon Palloseura's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Ciriaco Ferrando in the 4th minute. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Ecuador's goalie and right to Unto Allen. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Ecuador's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. The audience was convinced that Cristian Sancho's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Lasse Saarelainen was relentless in the 16th minute of the game. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Lasse Saarelainen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 20 minutes into the match, Savon Palloseura's goal looked a bit too open when Luis Andino came free, but Lasse Saarelainen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 20 minutes into the game, Luis Andino cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Lasse Saarelainen was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Julio Vera made an important save on a dangerous shot by Unto Allen in the 29th minute. With his leg Julio Vera managed to avoid a goal in the 35thth minute, when Savon Palloseura's Valdemar Kallio fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ciriaco Ferrando got free with Julio Vera in the 37th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Aatu Sivonen fell near the penalty area in the 42nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Savon Palloseura's protests and gave Aatu Sivonen a yellow card for diving instead. After 42 played minutes Savon Palloseura got a freekick which was hit by Aatu Sivonen. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Valdemar Kallio to make the kick off. Juan Sebastián Puig kicked well hit freekick during the 51st minute of the match. Valdemar Kallio's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 52nd minute of play. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ciriaco Ferrando in the 55th minute of the match. In the 56th minute, Ciriaco Ferrando ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Julio Vera was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. Savon Palloseura's Ylermi Lätti was substituted for Hafliði Borgþórsson. Savon Palloseura's Lasse Saarelainen proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 62nd minute of the match, managed to save Savon Palloseura from getting a goal against them. After 63 minutes, Tomas Gaxan mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Savon Palloseura and the Ecuador players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 63rd match minute, Savon Palloseura was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tomas Gaxan to maneuver through the defense. Ecuador's Felix Montenegro got a good chance for a goal in the 67th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The corner ended in Daniel Zorita almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Savon Palloseura's Lasse Saarelainen did a great save. Savon Palloseura's Lasse Saarelainen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luis Andino in the 75th minute of play. Thanks to some nice moves Daniel Zorita could shoot a difficult shot in the 77th minute, which Lasse Saarelainen however easily saved by the left post. Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 78th minute of the match, but Lasse Saarelainen made a huge save. After some fancy dribbling in the 81st minute, Cristian Sancho managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Cristian Sancho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lasse Saarelainen breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. With a little luck, Savon Palloseura's Lasse Saarelainen got control of the ball when Daniel Zorita tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 94 played minutes Savon Palloseura got a freekick which was hit by Aatu Sivonen. Ecuador's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Savon Palloseura had won, even though Ecuador had held more of the ball.
