Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Justino Loramendi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 6th match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jonathan Venegas to maneuver through the defense. In the 7th minute Mauro Paulista shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Through an outstanding action, after 8 minutes, Jonathan Ferrant successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Cesar Peyo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomas Illescas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 19 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Jonathan Venegas. Mauro Paulista blasted a shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jonathan Ferrant having to make a save. Jaroslaw Niezgoda could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 21st minute of the match, but Jonathan Ferrant made a huge save. Jonathan Ferrant made an important save on a dangerous shot by Justino Loramendi in the 22nd minute. Compostela FSCMZ were awarded a corner in the 24th minute after Venezuela's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Mauro Paulista took the corner. The corner led Compostela FSCMZ's Mauro Paulista to fire away a dangerous shot which Jonathan Ferrant despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. If Chicão Cerezo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tomas Illescas in the 32nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Cesar Peyo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The audience thought a goal was coming when Justino Loramendi got free with Jonathan Ferrant in the 39th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 44th minute, Tomas Illescas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jonathan Ferrant made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jaroslaw Niezgoda in the 46th minute. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tomas Illescas to make the kick off. Jonathan Venegas's late challenge caught a Compostela FSCMZ's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jonathan Venegas helped the player get up and apologised. Tomas Illescas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 63 minutes into the game, Tomas Illescas recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Cesar Peyo. Tomas Illescas showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-1. In the 68th minute, Jonathan Venegas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Mauro Paulista took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 69th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After 71 minutes of play, Compostela FSCMZ's Justino Loramendi made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jonathan Ferrant was left in no man's land by his defense there! Compostela FSCMZ made a substitution. Naldo Figueiredo replaced Robert Kornatowski. Compostela FSCMZ's Jaroslaw Niezgoda got a good chance for a goal in the 75th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Compostela FSCMZ's Alex Ortiz got a free kick in the 80th minute. The supporters of Venezuela booed when Compostela FSCMZ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alex Ortiz didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Boruc Poling in the 83rd minute of play. After some careless play in the Venezuela defense, Justino Loramendi kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. The Venezuela fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jonathan Ferrant should have stopped the shot. After 88 minutes, Justino Loramendi made it 3-1 with a short kick to the right side. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Justino Loramendi in the 91st minute of play. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Justino Loramendi in the 93rd minute of play.
