Ecuador's Julio Vera proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 6th minute of the match, managed to save Ecuador from getting a goal against them. After a rather tough play, Compostela FSCMZ's Rodrigo Seco got a free kick in the 7th minute. When Daniel Zorita came up free with the goalie in the 9th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Daniel Zorita couldn't finish the play. 20 minutes into the match, Compostela FSCMZ's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Cesar Peyo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cesar Peyo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 21st minute of play. Ecuador's Julio Vera proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 26th minute of the match, managed to save Ecuador from getting a goal against them. Compostela FSCMZ's Mauro Paulista was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Julio Vera in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Cristian Sancho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cesar Peyo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When the match was over Ecuador could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Compostela FSCMZ throughout the match.
