In the 8thth minute of the game Joel Gaona who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Memphis Grizzlies's Mattias Sawyer was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 9th match minute, Memphis Grizzlies was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Grant Andrews to maneuver through the defense. Lautaro Mancebo blasted a shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Mattias Sawyer having to make a save. Memphis Grizzlies's Mattias Sawyer played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alberto Tafalla in the 12th minute of play. If Spike Bond had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 18th match minute, Mexico was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luca Zorita to maneuver through the defense. Spike Bond's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Dante Lacasa firmly grabbed it by the left post. Memphis Grizzlies's Mattias Sawyer played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alberto Tafalla in the 22nd minute of play. Mexico's Dante Lacasa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 24th minute of the match, managed to save Mexico from getting a goal against them. Mattias Sawyer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alberto Tafalla in the 26th minute of play. Erling Haaland received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Dante Lacasa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Spike Bond fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dante Lacasa having to interfere. Mattias Sawyer showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luca Zorita in the 37th minute of the match. A hard shot 41 in the game by Spike Bond from a close distance when the talented Dante Lacasa managed to make a qualified save. Mexico's players were relieved. The audience thought a goal was coming when Spike Bond got free with Dante Lacasa in the 42nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When the match had gone on for 42 minutes, Spike Bond took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for Dante Lacasa to make any attempt to save it. Mexico's Dante Lacasa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 46th minute of the match, managed to save Mexico from getting a goal against them. Luca Zorita hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The wind increased when Erling Haaland made the kick off in the second half. The crowd rose to their feet as Mexico's Luca Zorita slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Mattias Sawyer. That made the score 1-2 after 53 minutes of play. Brandon Branson kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. Memphis Grizzlies's Brian Kay was substituted for Brandon Branson. In the 62nd match minute, Memphis Grizzlies was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Brandon Branson to maneuver through the defense. Through an outstanding action, after 63 minutes, Mattias Sawyer successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. After 65 minutes, Joel Gaona made it 1-3 with a short kick to the right side. Memphis Grizzlies's Mattias Sawyer tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Mattias Sawyer acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 71st minute, took the ball on the long shot from Joel Gaona. If Sam Bates had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 79th minute Sam Bates shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dante Lacasa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Mexico booed when Memphis Grizzlies was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Grant Andrews didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a little luck, Memphis Grizzlies's Mattias Sawyer got control of the ball when Joel Gaona tried to sneak it across the goal line. 90 minutes into the game, Sam Bates was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Memphis Grizzlies's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Mexico the free kick. The Memphis Grizzlies fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Mexico were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
