Pheonix FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. Tyge Oehlerich didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Cristian Sancho went, in the 20th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Vladislav Hampejs did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-2 to the left of a surprised Julio Vera 24 minutes into the match. Daniel Zorita struck a weak shot in the 28th minute. Tyge Oehlerich didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. 29 minutes into the game, Cristian Sancho cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-3. Tyge Oehlerich was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Tyge Oehlerich made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 35th minute of play. They were losing 1-3.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Daniel Zorita to strike the kick off in the second half. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by 任正振 in the 50th minute of play. After 52 minutes of play, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho made it 1-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Tyge Oehlerich was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 56th minute, Cristian Sancho made a precise shot to the right of Tyge Oehlerich. Pheonix FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-5. 59 minutes into the match, Pheonix FC's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Tyge Oehlerich reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Felix Montenegro charged in rather forcefully in the 60th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Felix Montenegro the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 62nd minute, 任正振 got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tyge Oehlerich having to interfere. In the 67th match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Felix Montenegro to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 71 minutes, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Daniel Zorita was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Daniel Zorita came free with the goalkeeper in the 72nd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Tyge Oehlerich could save by the left post. Tyge Oehlerich took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Daniel Zorita couldn't finish the play. In the 89th match minute, Pheonix FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alan Almeida to maneuver through the defense. 91 minutes into the game, one of Pheonix FC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Daniel Zorita shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. When the match clock showed 97 minutes, the score became 2-5 when Vladislav Hampejs sped through Ecuador's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Julio Vera. The Pheonix FC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Ecuador were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
