Emilio Munio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luz Tejedor, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Julian Murillo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Luis Erramun hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. The audience held their breath when Luz Tejedor in the 55th minute of the game managed to trick the opponents defenses and fired away a shot outside the goal on the Emilio Munio's left hand side. In the 56th minute Julian Murillo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Emilio Munio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 58th match minute, Acercate Y Patea de Lejos was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luis Erramun to maneuver through the defense. The throw-in from Severiano Venceslas in the 60th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Peru's Alonso Berganza. Emilio Munio was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Milagros Fraga showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-1 in the 62 minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eliseo Mina in the 73rd minute of play forced Acercate Y Patea de Lejos's goalkeeper Emilio Munio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 74th minute Peru were awarded a corner. Luz Tejedor went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led Peru's Eliseo Mina to fire away a dangerous shot which Emilio Munio despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. After 76 minutes of play, Acercate Y Patea de Lejos's Kraig Rowley made it 3-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Rolando Noboa was left in no man's land by his defense there! Peru's Eliseo Alcocer was substituted for Moises Gayoso. Peru's Rafael Gallo was substituted for Julian Murillo. 85 minutes into the match, Peru's Rafael Gallo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Emilio Munio narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Rafael Gallo scored 3-2 in the 87th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Emilio Munio, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 90th minute of the match, Rafael Gallo tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Emilio Munio saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Emilio Munio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rafael Gallo in the 92nd minute of play. Rolando Noboa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jose Gipuzkoa in the 94th minute of play. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Acercate Y Patea de Lejos fans cheered their team off the field, for while Peru had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
