Jonathan Ferrant was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Jonathan Ferrant made a fantastic save in the 18th minute, when Ture Ahlstedt sent off a good shot on target. Ture Ahlstedt struck a weak shot in the 20th minute. Jonathan Ferrant didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for The Swedish Nightmare. 29 minutes into the match, Hjalmar Backlund dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Jonathan Ferrant, 2-0. Tomas Illescas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edgar Åström having to interfere. In the 39th minute Tomas Illescas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edgar Åström saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jonathan Ferrant made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ture Ahlstedt in the 40th minute. 43 minutes into the game, Alex Chicote was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Venezuela's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave The Swedish Nightmare the free kick. In the 43rd minute, Alex Chicote hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the match had gone on for 44 minutes, Hjalmar Backlund took a quick shot and it went in 3-0 without a chance for Jonathan Ferrant to make any attempt to save it. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ture Ahlstedt in the 51st minute of play. If Ture Ahlstedt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ture Ahlstedt in the 54th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jonathan Ferrant saved Venezuela from getting behind. If Tomas Illescas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ture Ahlstedt in the 57th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jonathan Ferrant saved Venezuela from getting behind. In the 58th minute Tomas Illescas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edgar Åström saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 67 minutes into the match, Venezuela's Tomas Illescas sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Edgar Åström narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The Swedish Nightmare made a substitution. Jorginho Meirelles replaced Hjalmar Backlund. Robin Mårtensson hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Patricio Costa in the 72nd minute of play forced The Swedish Nightmare's goalkeeper Edgar Åström to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Venezuela's Tomas Illescas was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Edgar Åström in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal and Ture Ahlstedt tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 86th minute, Jorginho Meirelles got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jorginho Meirelles in the 89th minute of play. 91 minutes into the match, Jorginho Meirelles notched a goal, 5-0, to the right of Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 93rd match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alex Chicote to maneuver through the defense. In the 95thth minute of the game Ture Ahlstedt who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. The Swedish Nightmare fully deserved thier win.
