The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gelu Ioniță was the one to do the kick off. Beržas Lideika made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edmundo Espiga in the 54th minute of play. Honduras's Lautaro Navarro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gelu Ioniță in the 55th minute of play. Lautaro Navarro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gelu Ioniță, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gelu Ioniță sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Virgil Ţirpe fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lautaro Navarro having to interfere. If Boguslaw Furgat had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Rapid Bucharest fully deserved thier win.
