The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The supporters of Vodka Stars 1949 booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 2 match minutes in a wonderful position. Camilo Gaos didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 3 minutes, Curcio Alonso managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Vodka Stars 1949's supporters crossed their fingers, but Curcio Alonso was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 5 minutes, Jonathan Venegas mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Venezuela and the Vodka Stars 1949 players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 5 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Jonathan Venegas. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Paul Geeraerts in the 8th minute of play. 9 minutes into the game, Paul Geeraerts cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Jonathan Ferrant was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 16 minutes into the match, Venezuela's Patricio Costa sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Generoso Beloki narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After some careless play in the Vodka Stars 1949 defense, Tomas Illescas kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Generoso Beloki. Curcio Alonso succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 3-1 in the 44th playminute.

Edmundo London kicked well hit freekick during the 50th minute of the match. 51 minutes into the match, Vodka Stars 1949's goal looked a bit too open when Tomas Illescas came free, but Generoso Beloki reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 52nd minute, Tomas Illescas managed to get in a good position for a shot. Venezuela's supporters rose to their feet, but Tomas Illescas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Generoso Beloki breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Erik Véber, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Erik Véber in the 60th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jonathan Ferrant prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 63rd minute of the match Vodka Stars 1949 got a corner. Venezuela's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Curcio Alonso ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on Vodka Stars 1949's corner Lucas Montaña fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Jonathan Ferrant quite easily take care of the ball. If Paul Geeraerts had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Camilo Gaos hit a great ball. Vodka Stars 1949 made a substitution. Santos Valladolid replaced Edmundo London. After 67 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Camilo Gaos. In the 68th match minute, Vodka Stars 1949 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Santos Valladolid to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tomas Illescas got free with Generoso Beloki in the 74th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 77thth minute of the game Curcio Alonso who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Paul Geeraerts scored 4-1 in the 78th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jonathan Ferrant, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Generoso Beloki made a fantastic save in the 82nd minute, when Tomas Illescas sent off a good shot on target. In the 85th minute Paul Geeraerts shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Paul Geeraerts, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. In the 91st minute Paul Geeraerts shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Curcio Alonso in the 93rd minute of the match. After 94 played minutes Vodka Stars 1949 got a freekick which was hit by Santos Valladolid. Vodka Stars 1949 walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
