Generoso Beloki didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Daniel Zorita went, in the 14th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. In the 17th minute, Daniel Zorita left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ecuador fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. Generoso Beloki showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 21st minute of the match. Julio Vera made an important save on a dangerous shot by Erik Véber in the 24th minute. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Generoso Beloki tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Vodka Stars 1949's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 35th minute of play forced Vodka Stars 1949's goalkeeper Generoso Beloki to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Generoso Beloki made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 38th minute of play. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Vodka Stars 1949 booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Daniel Zorita didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 42nd minute, Remir Martínez got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 44 minutes into the match, Vodka Stars 1949's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Generoso Beloki reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 46 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Erik Véber. Paul Geeraerts sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Vodka Stars 1949's Txema Cifuentes was substituted for Casado Castan. After 72 minutes of play, Vodka Stars 1949's Paul Geeraerts made it 1-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cristian Sancho got free with Generoso Beloki in the 77th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Martin Batalla in the 91st minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Martin Batalla had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match had gone on for 97 minutes, Paul Geeraerts put it in 2-5 from a short distance just to the right of Julio Vera. When the final whistle sounded Ecuador left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Vodka Stars 1949.
