Ebrahem Al Qatam made in the 5th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Salah Al Towatan however managed to control. Younis Al Harban took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sebastian Villa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Faisal Al Sohali during the 15th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Honduras made a substitution. Alexander Costa replaced Sebastian Villa. With his leg Lautaro Navarro managed to avoid a goal in the 25thth minute, when Al-Ahli's Faleh Al Saleh fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. If Edmundo Espiga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match clock showed 38 minutes, the score became 0-3 when Moises Tafalla sped through Al-Ahli's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Younis Al Harban. Honduras's Christian Sancho managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Ebrahem Al Qatam in the 42 minute of the game. Alexander Costa took the ball and in the 45 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Younis Al Harban. Younis Al Harban dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-4.

52 minutes into the match, Al-Ahli's goal looked a bit too open when Alexander Costa came free, but Younis Al Harban reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Honduras's attentive Esteban Carvallo managed to snatch the ball when Ebrahem Al Qatam made a throw-in in the 53rd minute of the game. In the 54th minute, Alexander Costa ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Younis Al Harban was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-5. Faisal Al Sohali got his second yellow card in the match during the 57th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. After 58 played minutes Al-Ahli got a freekick which was hit by Faisal Al Sohali. After some fancy dribbling in the 59th minute, Edmundo Espiga managed to get in a good position for a shot. Honduras's supporters rose to their feet, but Edmundo Espiga was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Younis Al Harban breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Al-Ahli's Younis Al Harban proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 63rd minute of the match, managed to save Al-Ahli from getting a goal against them. 65 minutes into the game, Edmundo Espiga recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Younis Al Harban. Edmundo Espiga showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-6. A collision led to Honduras getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Luca Espinar hit a great ball. After 78 played minutes Edmundo Espiga rounded Al-Ahli's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 0-7. Honduras's Edmundo Espiga got a good chance for a goal in the 81st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Edmundo Espiga in the 82nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Younis Al Harban saved Al-Ahli from getting behind. In the last second Younis Al Harban throw himself and got hold of the ball when Edmundo Espiga in the 84thth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. 85 minutes in the game, Alexander Costa fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Younis Al Harban having to interfere. Younis Al Harban came out of the goal in the 94th minute to try and stop a shot by Honduras's Alexander Costa. But to his dismay, Alexander Costa quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-8. Honduras's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
