Yenal Tanır fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marco Day having to interfere. Cassius Byrne sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Juventus PTM's Armando Gazza played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Monty Rogers in the 17th minute of play. Through an outstanding action, after 19 minutes, Marco Day successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. In the 21st minute of the match Juventus PTM got a corner. USA's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Vidar Albäck ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Vidar Albäck got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Marco Day quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Marco Day made an important save on a dangerous shot by Yenal Tanır in the 37th minute. In the 41st minute the ball was on its way in behind USA's goalkeeper Marco Day, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.
