Venko Petrov's late challenge caught a Ecuador's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Venko Petrov helped the player get up and apologised. Venko Petrov kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. Dimitar Vetzov showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luis Andino in the 14th minute of the match. 16 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Venko Petrov came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. During this time FC Bansko's players had a chance to rest. 40 minutes into the match, Cristian Sancho had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Dimitar Vetzov. FC Bansko's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Cristian Sancho was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. The supporters of FC Bansko booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luis Andino didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Venko Petrov came up free with the goalie in the 47th minute, the FC Bansko fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Venko Petrov couldn't finish the play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Daniel Zorita to strike the kick off in the second half.
