Through an outstanding action, after 17 minutes, Julio Vera successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Juan Raúl Riquelme in the 18th minute of the match. Teo Pacorro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Juan Raúl Riquelme in the 23rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 25th minute of play forced Inter Miami CF's goalkeeper Teo Pacorro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 26th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Teo Pacorro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 28th minute after Inter Miami CF's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Zorita took the corner. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Inter Miami CF's goalie and right to Felix Montes. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Inter Miami CF's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. A collision led to Inter Miami CF getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Danilo Illart hit a great ball. Blas Urtungo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 31st minute of the match, but Julio Vera made a huge save. In the 34th minute, Daniel Zorita hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Cristian Sancho came up free with the goalie in the 39th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cristian Sancho couldn't finish the play. In the 41st minute, Piara Lider hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Inter Miami CF booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Juan Sebastián Puig didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 44th minute, Amado Muc made a precise shot to the right of Julio Vera. Ecuador's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Daniel Zorita stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Felix Montenegro hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Blas Urtungo in the 56th minute of play. Teo Pacorro was a little too slow when Daniel Zorita got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 60th minute. The score was now 1-1. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Luis Andino got a free kick in the 64th minute. In the 67th minute of the match Inter Miami CF got a corner. Ecuador's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Enzo Iago ran over to the corner to take the kick. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Amado Muc in the 70th minute of the match. Inter Miami CF's Amado Muc got a good chance for a goal in the 72nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 77th minute of the match, but Teo Pacorro made a huge save. 79 minutes into the match, Inter Miami CF's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Teo Pacorro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Through an outstanding action, after 82 minutes, Teo Pacorro successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Blas Urtungo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere. After having played for 89 minutes, Felix Montenegro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Felix Montenegro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpected shot in the 93rd minute by Daniel Zorita got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side.
