Venezuela's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ronnys Lärjungar the free kick. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Patricio Costa got a free kick in the 4th minute. In the 19th minute, Kjell-Arne Skott ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jonathan Ferrant was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. After having played for 24 minutes, Kjell-Arne Skott managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ronnys Lärjungar's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kjell-Arne Skott was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 31st minute, Alex Chicote hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 31 played minutes, Ronnys Lärjungar's Patrik Ahlrot shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Ronnys Lärjungar reached it. Edvin Bruhn stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tomas Illescas's shot from short distance in the 33rd minute. The supporters of Ronnys Lärjungar booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rigoberto Mina didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ronnys Lärjungar's Patrik Ahlrot shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 37th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Jonathan Ferrant but with some difficulty. Patricio Costa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edvin Bruhn having to interfere. Arnold Butter kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. Patricio Costa hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Kjell-Arne Skott to make the kick off. Tomas Illescas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Edvin Bruhn tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. George Esbjörnsson struck a weak shot in the 54th minute. Jonathan Ferrant didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ronnys Lärjungar. After a rather tough play, Ronnys Lärjungar's George Esbjörnsson got a free kick in the 57th minute. Ronnys Lärjungar's Kåre Mattsson was substituted for Zebastian Larsfält. George Esbjörnsson hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. When Tomas Illescas came up free with the goalie in the 60th minute, the Venezuela fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tomas Illescas couldn't finish the play. Edvin Bruhn didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Tomas Illescas went, in the 62nd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. In the 68th minute the ball was on its way in behind Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Camilo Gaos got a free kick in the 68th minute. After 69 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Camilo Gaos. In the 71st minute, Jonathan Venegas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 78th minute, Sverker Björk got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 81st minute Kjell-Arne Skott shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Tomas Illescas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 85th minute, Tomas Illescas ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Edvin Bruhn was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. In the 87th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ronnys Lärjungar's goalkeeper Edvin Bruhn, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kjell-Arne Skott in the 89th minute of play. In the 92nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 93 minutes Venezuela's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Patrik Ahlrot who took care of the corner kick. The corner ended in Patrik Ahlrot almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant did a great save. After a rather tough play, Ronnys Lärjungar's Kåre Mattsson got a free kick in the 94th minute. The Venezuela players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
