In the 12th minute, Cristian Sancho ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ma Yong Jun was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. The audience thought a goal was coming when Slawomir Majak got free with Julio Vera in the 19th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Slawomir Majak could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 22nd minute of the match, but Julio Vera made a huge save. A nice corner shot did that Rickard Lövkvist got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Julio Vera quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. With his leg Julio Vera managed to avoid a goal in the 25thth minute, when Karen FC's Slawomir Majak fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After a rather tough play, Karen FC's Bai Yan Feng got a free kick in the 26th minute. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 31st minute of play forced Karen FC's goalkeeper Ma Yong Jun to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience was convinced that Arvin Svanberg's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julio Vera was relentless in the 37th minute of the game. Ma Yong Jun showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. After the first half Ecuador were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Slawomir Majak was the one to do the kick off. After 50 minutes, Luis Andino mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ecuador and the Karen FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 50th match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luis Andino to maneuver through the defense. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Slawomir Majak in the 56th minute of play. Agustín Saelices recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 61st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 65 minutes into the match, Karen FC's goalkeeper Ma Yong Jun had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daniel Zorita. In the 75th minute of the match, Cristian Sancho got a very nice opportunity to score, but Ma Yong Jun was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Daniel Zorita came free with the goalkeeper in the 78th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Ma Yong Jun could save by the left post. A collision led to Karen FC getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Einar Carlsson hit a great ball. Karen FC made a substitution. Leo Öfverman replaced Seve Sevens. Karen FC's Ma Yong Jun proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 81st minute of the match, managed to save Karen FC from getting a goal against them. Ma Yong Jun made a fantastic save in the 87th minute, when Cristian Sancho sent off a good shot on target. 89 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ma Yong Jun narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 90 minutes into the game, Rickard Lövkvist was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Karen FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ecuador the free kick. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Felix Montenegro hit a great ball. Cristian Sancho struck a weak shot in the 95th minute. Ma Yong Jun didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. Ecuador's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
