Daniel Zorita struck a weak shot in the 26th minute. Oséias de Andrade didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. In the 30th minute, Ragnar Johansson ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Julio Vera was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. After some careless play in the Tiki Taka FC defense, Cristian Sancho kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Oséias de Andrade. The Tiki Taka FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Oséias de Andrade should have stopped the shot. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Magdaleno Encina, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 67th minute of the match, but Oséias de Andrade made a huge save. Oséias de Andrade made a fantastic save in the 94th minute, when Felix Montenegro sent off a good shot on target. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Tiki Taka FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mats Ekerot didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tiki Taka FC succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Ecuador had controlled the match.
