A collision led to Vikingos FC getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Wilhelm Widberg hit a great ball. 17 minutes into the match, Vikingos FC's goal looked a bit too open when Luz Tejedor came free, but Sebastián Sosa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the match had gone on for 21 minutes, Vladimiro Lauro took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Rolando Noboa to make any attempt to save it. In the 34th minute Julian Murillo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sebastián Sosa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Julian Murillo struck a weak shot in the 43rd minute. Sebastián Sosa didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Peru. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Vladimiro Lauro to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 63rd minute of the match Peru got a corner. Vikingos FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Luz Tejedor ran over to the corner to take the kick. In the 67th minute, Roque Vito ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Rolando Noboa was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. When Marek Torm fell near the penalty area in the 69th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Vikingos FC's protests and gave Marek Torm a yellow card for diving instead. In the 69th minute, Marek Torm hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Marek Torm hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. Sebastián Sosa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Julian Murillo, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. After 78 minutes of play, Peru's Julian Murillo made it 3-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Sebastián Sosa was left in no man's land by his defense there! Vikingos FC made a substitution. Luciano Lleir replaced Per-Olof Vallmark. Emmanuel Reyes kicked well hit freekick during the 85th minute of the match. Peru's Antonio Tenorio was substituted for Luz Tejedor. The supporters of Vikingos FC booed when Peru was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Anthony Alvarado didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 94th minute of the match Marek Torm sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Rolando Noboa skillfully saved the ball.
