With a little luck, Ecuador's Julio Vera got control of the ball when Bernardo Caballero tried to sneak it across the goal line. The Bajen players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Ecuador were winning 0-1.

The wind increased when Sidney Porto made the kick off in the second half. The audience was convinced that Bernardo Caballero's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julio Vera was relentless in the 50th minute of the game. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Bernardo Caballero in the 93rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Julio Vera prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 94 minutes, Bernardo Caballero made it 2-1 with a short kick to the right side. Ecuador's Julio Vera tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot.
