Zoltán Varga succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 3-2 in the 44th playminute.

Julio Vera made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-2. The supporters of Ecuador booed when FC Wallersdorf was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leo Polenz didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 72nd minute, Camilo Gisbert hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cristian Sancho might have been able to make a better finish in the 75th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Elia Bobadilla. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out.
