Axel Tasis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 5th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 12th match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aaron Alcocer to maneuver through the defense. Benito Sanz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zuhejr Selaković in the 21st minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Costa Rica's Axel Tasis got a free kick in the 22nd minute. Benito Sanz made a fantastic save in the 23rd minute, when Šećer Demirović sent off a good shot on target. A hard shot 27 in the game by Šećer Demirović from a close distance when the talented Benito Sanz managed to make a qualified save. Costa Rica's players were relieved. 28 minutes into the game, Aaron Alcocer was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Costa Rica's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Manchester United the free kick. A collision led to Costa Rica getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Aaron Alcocer hit a great ball. In the 29th of the match, Zuhejr Selaković tried to place the ball in the upper right corner, but Benito Sanz got in the way and made a wonderful save. 30 minutes into the match, Lautaro Puig notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Manchester United's Said Franković. Said Franković was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After a defensive mix-up in Costa Rica's zone, Šećer Demirović stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Benito Sanz came out of the goal and Šećer Demirović tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 37th minute, Eliseo Noboa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Šećer Demirović recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 38th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 41 minutes into the game, Šećer Demirović cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Benito Sanz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in.

In the 53rd minute, Šećer Demirović ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Benito Sanz was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. Zuhejr Selaković scored 4-1 in the 61st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Benito Sanz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Šećer Demirović might have been able to make a better finish in the 63rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Benito Sanz. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Šećer Demirović ran back to his position shaking his head. After 65 minutes, Juan Rubio mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Costa Rica and the Manchester United players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 65th minute, Juan Rubio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Eliseo Noboa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 73 minutes into the match, Zuhejr Selaković had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Benito Sanz. Costa Rica's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Zuhejr Selaković was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-1. Šećer Demirović sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 82nd minute Šećer Demirović shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benito Sanz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lautaro Puig charged in rather forcefully in the 86th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Lautaro Puig the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Costa Rica's Lautaro Puig got a free kick in the 86th minute. When the referee ended the match the Manchester United players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
