A nice corner shot did that Clarke Brooks got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Rolando Noboa quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Pancracio Paniagua showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Julian Murillo, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. 18 minutes into the match, Peru's Julian Murillo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Pancracio Paniagua narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The audience was convinced that Julian Murillo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Pancracio Paniagua was relentless in the 23rd minute of the game. The corner ended in Eliseo Mina almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but POPULAR F.C's Pancracio Paniagua did a great save. Julian Murillo might have been able to make a better finish in the 36th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Pancracio Paniagua. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Julian Murillo ran back to his position shaking his head. Julian Murillo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pancracio Paniagua having to interfere. The POPULAR F.C players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Peru were winning 0-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Julian Murillo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. POPULAR F.C's Pancracio Paniagua played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Julian Murillo in the 51st minute of play. With a little luck, POPULAR F.C's Pancracio Paniagua got control of the ball when Milagros Fraga tried to sneak it across the goal line. When the final whistle sounded Peru left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than POPULAR F.C.
